Description Graeme Hewson 2013-05-13 16:59:01 UTC
To reproduce:

While in a folder with the Sender Identity set in the folder properties, click on Message / Mailing List / Post New Message. Observe the default identity is used, and not the configured identity.

Note this is different from clicking on Message / New Message to Mailing-List, where the Sender Identity is used correctly.
Comment 1 Laurent Montel 2013-05-14 06:17:08 UTC
I confirm it.
Comment 2 Darin McBride 2013-10-30 04:05:52 UTC
I just noticed this in KDE 4.11.2, too.
Comment 3 Denis Kurz 2016-09-24 18:01:20 UTC
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 4 Graeme Hewson 2016-09-26 14:19:52 UTC
The bug is still present in 5.1.3.

Note that Message / Mailing List is now Message / {name of mailing list}.

Thank you for reporting this bug in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version?

If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "REPORTED" when replying. Thank you!

Click Message / Mailing List Name: {name of mailing list} / Post New Message (email).

Note that in the composer, the Identity (and From) fields are the defaults, not the identity set in the folder properties.

The same happens with any other submenu of Mailing List Name (such as Request Help (email) ).

Message / New Message to Mailing-List... works OK.

Using Kubuntu 22.10, KMail 5.21.1 (22.08.1).
