Description Janet 2013-05-12 11:02:32 UTC
The home button in the toolbar allows two modes: either going to the set homepage or showing the files in my home folder. By default konqueror opens in web mode when called with the command "konqueror". When I then choose the home folder from toolbar a dolphin window opens. For seeing my home folder in konqueror I have to type the folder's address into the address bar.

On the other hand, when I have the folder view and choose the homepage button to switch back to web browsing mode, I get a dialog which asks me what I want to do with the "Type: HTML document": save, open in default browser, open with or cancel.

When I use konqueror, I want to use konqueror. It should not open any other application for switching to the desired view mode, that makes konqueror useless.

I havent' set konqueror as default filemanager and browser but want to use it occasionally as a combination of both (for which it was designed IMHO).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Don't set konqueror as defautl for browsing and filemanagement.
2. Open it with "konqueror" and use the drop down home button to switch to filemananger mode.
3. When you are in filemanager mode (by typing the address) click on the drop down home button to return to webbrowsing mode: home page address is treated as HTML document and you get the query how you want to open it.

Expected Results:
Just switching between the two modes inside of konqueror. No questions, no other applications.

Related to this: When I leftclick on a folder in filemanager mode a new dolphin window opens. I can only open a folder in konqueror with the middle mouse button in a new tab.

When I set a bookmark for my home folder it opens in konqueror. Just the home button does open dolphin.

The report is a bit confusing. Is the issue the misbehavior of the "Home" button ? Or is it more than that ? I ask because in the second "steps to reproduce" you said: "Open it with "konqueror" and use the drop down home button to switch to filemananger mode". Which drop down is that ? The "Home" button ?

That's the button. When in webbrowser mode I cannot switch to filemanager mode via that button drop down menu, it opens a dolphin window instead of showing the filemanager mode inside of konqueror. When in filemanager mode I cannot switch to webbrowser mode with the button drop down menu as it cannot handle weblinks.

With 'open it with "konqueror"' I meant to use the command "konqueror", not something like "kfmclient openProfile filemanagement" or so. That was confusing I agree.
