Description exsudat 2013-05-11 09:58:42 UTC
It is a feauter request.

The split view (in german the toolbar-button "Teilen") only split the view verticaly.

A lot of users using landscape monitors (widescreen with pivot, tablets, ...). And some use dolphin only on one half-side of theire monitor.
The point is: There are a lot of situations where the y-side of the dolphin window is larger then the x-side.

There should be a horizontal split mode, too. But don't implement only a second toolbar-button for that.

Let dolphin do this automaticly.

When executing the split-view (and when resizing the window!) Dolphin should check the proportion between x-size and y-size of its window and decide by itself spliting horizontal or verticaly.

It would be a really great feauter for "future devices"! ;)

Reproducible: Always
