There's this option in the contact editing window:

kaddressbook -> contact -> edit it -> in tab contact => Prefer to receive message formatted as "HTML"

 I would suggest changing the option in the GUI to "Allow HTML messages from this contact" or some such. I wouldn't know that the option is what I wanted if I didn't read bug 63780 first (and I've been missing this feature for a while now).

Also, this is a very useful feature that is *very* hard to discover. It would be best if this option was available in the the menu that shows up when you right-click the e-mail address in the From field.
