I am running on PCLinuxOS and kernel 3.2.18 KDE 4.10.1 and most all of the help files from the help menu, tools menu lead to this message "The requested help file could not be parsed:<br/>/usr/share/doc/HTML/en//systemsettings/index.docbook". if the double"//"is incorrect please fix when can...but tell me where to find it in some script file and I can fix it.....it is my belief the the code is set to leave on the end and add to the beginning, witch creates this issue..I've noticed that all of the suspect parses follow the same dir/path up to that point. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open any KDE written program. 2.in the menu (top part of window) click help 3. go to any main/context help. boom......a window >>The requested help file could not be parsed:<br/>/usr/share/doc/HTML/en//systemsettings/index.docbook. Actual Results: DjVu Expected Results: open the file in question so I can read the helpful info. I have tried to read them in raw hmtl?!....I give up and there simply to many files for me to sift through to find this problem...I don't know your file architecture yet.
I can not confirm in 4.10 compiled from sources. The double "//" does not matter. Do you have the files "customization/kde-nochunk.xsl" and "customization/kde-chunk.xsl" installed? In the meantime please use docs.kde.org to read the kde documentation online.
Maybe Bug openSUSE 835280 could shed some light on this subject.
The // does matter on Windows XP. The Windows Explorer does not accept that path with the // in it. It does accept it when it is replaced with a /. I too cannot access the installed help files because of this bug.
Hm, probably. But why does clicking "Help" open the Explorer? Shouldn't it launch KHelpCenter? Anyway, this bug is not specific to System Settings, according to the reporter.
Clicking "Help" does open KHelpCenter which cannot find the help file. I copied and pasted the path into the Windows Explorer. That the Windows Explorer does not accept that path shows it is not a valid path in Windows XP.
Running 4.10.2 (latest stable of KDE for win) on Windows XP in a virtual machine I cannot reproduce this issue, KHelpCenter opens all requested help files without any problems. Even if a manually delete a documentation I get this page in khelpcenter: http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kde-runtime/documentationnotfound/index.html Seems your installation is broken or uncomplete. Do you have the files "customization/kde-nochunk.xsl" and "customization/kde-chunk.xsl" installed?
I have these two files installed. They are in the directory: C:\Program Files\Kontact E5\share\apps\ksgmltools2\customization\ The KDE Version I have is 4.10.4. This was downloaded from: http://mirror.kolabsys.com/pub/upload/windows/ These appear to be beta versions only. I do not know where to get the any version other than a beta one. The downloaded installation file has the name K3-Kontact-Beta-latest.exe and it was downloaded on Jan 1, 2014.

I went to http://kde.org/download/#winmac and followed that link for downloading there. I ended up at: http://windows.kde.org/ where there are downloads for a KDE software compilation. All I am interested in is Kontact and its Kmail. Does anyone maintain a Kontact only installation file?
