Description Maarten Bezemer 2013-05-05 19:15:22 UTC
I would like to see a new feature that automatically selects the correct dictionary language depending on the recipient(s) of the email.

I know that it is possible to set a default language for each identity, but that is not sufficient when one identity is used to send emails in multiple languages.
I think the language is more dependent on the email recipients instead.

The (default) language could be depending on the address (country) details of the recipient/contact (if available). Remembering the last used language per contact could also be a solution I suppose.

Reproducible: Always

But there is still pb when we have more than 1 email

=> 1 emails using french 1 emails using english
what we will use ?

For your example there is not really a solution, I guess. Unless you always use the same language for both emails, then the system can remember this and is able to pick the correct language. Or in the case where there are 3 email addresses, 2 English related and one French related, the system could choose for English.

Maybe it is possible to have a (user-configurable?) hierarchy in languages? For example English is used in international projects, so it has an higher 'importance' than French when recipients are both English and French?

This would work in my work situation: I email my boss in Dutch, but in a more international environment I send my emails in English (even though one of the recipients is my boss who I normally email in Dutch)
