Applications using Phonon (tried System Settings and Amarok) hang, either on startup (Amarok) or when Phonon-related task is selected (System Settings -> Multimedia). Works fine with x86-mingw4 packages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Clean KDE installation, MSVC 2010 compiler, kde-workspace selected along with its dependencies 2. Run System Settings 3. Click on Multimedia Actual Results: System Setting hangs, has to be killed manually. Expected Results: Phonon settings should be shown, as it happens when MinGW4 compiler is selected during installation. Tested in 32-bit Windows XP.
I can reproduce the problem with the msvc 2010 compiler. No problem when using mingw4. Tested using 32bit Xp in virtualbox and physical machine.
