If is background image choosed by user, it should by used by locker as background image instead of theme's default background.

It was my first reaction to the new locker too. But what if the user has several virtual desktops with different wallpapers? I guess it would be better to let the user define a background for the locker (wallpaper, color). -> Bug 312828: simple locker should allow for custom background

Well, to be honest, I have not thought about situation like this. But I totally agree.
