A KNotify bubble would be a good way to do it, I guess, although the bottom right corner of the screen might be far from the Ark window.  It would be ideal to be able to show non-modal notifications at the top of the application window, like browsers do these days.

Yeah, in the case that Ark is configured to not open a filemanager window that shows it, Ark should probably send a notification with an "Open containing folder" button once the archive has been created or extracted.
