Description Mattia 2013-04-27 09:47:02 UTC
It would be nice to have a way to export all digikam settings and to have digikam ask for that file when it starts for the first time.
For example, I have my photos on a local NAS, and I have metadata stored on a mysql database on that NAS. When I reinstall my PC I have to do the wizard and then manually re set Digikam to use the database, then I have to re set all Digikam settings.
With an 'export configuration' and the ability to give that file in the wizard we can reinstall (or install Digikam in more than one PC) with the same settings in a blink of eye.

Reproducible: Always

digiKam configuration file already exist in your home directory :

~/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc

Also, dedicated settings for BQM, Camera, GUi, are in :

~/.kde4/share/apps/digikam

Working with script to wrap around these files is for you the best solution. There is no plan to make another interface about digiKam settings.

Hello Gilles,

are there also such directories for digiKam under Windows and where can you find them?

THX in advance
