Description Martin Tlustos 2013-04-25 08:38:11 UTC
Symptoms:
nepomukcontroller freezes every time it is opened from system tray, and always shows 0 files indexed
when using kcm/nepomuk, I can start file indexing by disabling and re-enabling file indexing. It then shows how it crawls through my folders.
when clicking on "details", the same window pops up as through the system tray, but starts freezing again.
.kde/share/apps/nepomuk/repository/main/data/virtuosobackend/virtuoso.db has 102mb, and is accessed when I tell nepomuk to index files. It does not change in size, though.
ctrl-f in dolphin does not yield any results.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. log into kde
2. start nepomukcontroller through system tray
3.

Expected Results:
files should be indexed, nepomukcontroller shouldn't freeze, I should be able to search and find files.

Maybe it's a kubuntu bug?

Same here after upgrade to Kubuntu 13.04:

Same after quit nepomukserver
delete all nepomuk*.rc files and nepomuk folder and restart.

That's strange.

Please enable all debug output via kdebugdialog.
Could you please run 'nepomukindexer' on any one of the files that should be indexed, and then try to search for that file?

Sorry, I can't help here any longer, as it started working for me. I don't remember why, as I have two laptops with kubuntu 13.04, which had similar problems first, then different solutions. They also had different environments. One is a clean 32-bit install, the other is a 64-bit upgrade from 12.10...

Perfect. That's even better.

I'm marking this as FIXED then. If it happens again please feel free to re-open or file a new bug.
