I have KMail configured to *not* apply pictures to mail I send and Fancy Headers enabled. I have a remote IM Contact who has an avatar assigned to his, kde-telepathy-managed, XMPP account. If I navigate to my Sent Folder and select any e-mail then the remote IM Contact's avatar is shown in the right of my Fancy Header. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start KMail 2. Navigate to your Sent Folder 3. Select an e-mail with your identity e-mail address as sender 4. Observer Fancy Header of e-mail Actual Results: An arbitary image, in my case a remote IM Contact's avatar, is shown at the right of the Fancy Header even though my preference is *not* to attach pictures to my sent e-mail. Expected Results: No face image should be shown in the Fancy Header.
Screenshot ?
Created attachment 79378 [details] Image of KMail (Kontact) window with unexpected X-Face picture The handsome looking individual in the screenshot is not me. It is one of my friends whom I have as an IM contact.
I should add that the picture displayed in the earlier screenshot is derived from a Google Contact from my Other Contacts section of my Google Addressbook.
Are you sure, that the image is send over the net? One feature from kmail is to show the image from kaddressbook when using fancy headers. I also see images for contacs, but I'm sure that this information is not sended across the net (looked at the sended mail with another mailclient. (using kmail 4.11)
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
