Description piedro 2013-04-20 11:27:27 UTC
Hello everyone!

When I tag an album with musicbrainz picard, then import in amarok (or copy it into the collection folder, - the album shows in amarok with a missing album artist (though it is explicitly set in picard!) - this leads to the album showing up under "various artists" (though it's only a one artist album - I checked for spaces and typos in every track ...)

Now I can add an album artist through amaroks tag editor and the album correctly vanishes from "various artists" but this is a tedious process.

It doesn't seem to effect all albums though

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. tag an album with picard or kid3
2. scan into amarok
3. some albums are shown under various artists and don't show the album artist tag anymore
4. tick "don't show album as collection" and the album will afterwards show correctly within the amarok collection (has been moved also) and the album artist tag is present again ...
5. annoying thing is, the cover is gone now (though written into the file by picard)

maybe a rescan brings back the cover but for some reason I find the album under various artists again ... very inconvenient ...

thx for reading,
piedro

Piedro, maybe this is another problem - that picard sets compilation flag on the album and Amarok interprets it differently? Perhaps clicking "Do not show under V/A" suffices for album artist to magically show up?

If this is the case, that would be another (already report) bug.

Hallo Matej!

Yes, as I wrote above:

> 4. tick "don't show album as collection" and the album will afterwards show correctly within
> the amarok collection (has been moved also) and the album artist tag is present again ...

So I guess this is the already reported bug you are writing about.
Can you add a link to the duplicate, I can't find it .... sry about that.

thx, piedro

That would be bug 318089, please comment on that bug from now on.

What is strange is that bug 318089 is supposed to be fixed in current git. Please update to current git version and try to reproduce. Id this is still reproducible, add comment on bug 318089 and attach output of `amarokcollectionscanner path/to/directory/with/affected/tracks/`

Also note related (unresolved) bug 313496.
