Description Harald Sitter 2013-04-11 21:56:56 UTC
importwizard clutters up the menu for no good reason. it is a perceived part of kmail and as such should be inside kmail.

in case the rationale for having it outside is that one needs to run it with kmail closed then I still argue that 99% of the users will initially start it from inside kmail at which point *the wizard* should take care of the shutdown/restart of kmail. which would be altogether much nicer for the user.

Reproducible: Always

adding the line NoDisplay=true to importwizard.desktop should be enough. Right?
Comment 2 Allen Winter 2013-05-30 22:04:50 UTC
Or maybe put the KMail Import Wizard into another Category. Perhaps Utilities?
Comment 3 Laurent Montel 2013-05-31 05:32:01 UTC
I don't want to hide it from menu.
Otherwise I can remove this application if user doesn't know it.
But move in other category ok

Agreed.

Harald, would you be happier to move the KMail Import Wizard to the Utilities menu?
Comment 5 Harald Sitter 2013-06-03 15:02:16 UTC
Happier, yes. But as I said, ultimately the tool should not be in the menu. At least to me it seems like a very weird workflow to import my mails from outside the mail application.
