Description Mathias Dietrich 2013-04-10 18:32:49 UTC
Please make the presence applet autohide if at systempanel applet the presence applet entry is set to "automatically" and if the applet is offline.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add presence-applet
2. Set it to "automatically" in systempanel applet
2. Go offline with presence-applet

Actual Results:
Presence-applet is still shown with offline icon

Expected Results:
The presence-applet fades out / autohides like the other entries do (printer-applet etc.).

Then how would you go online?

This matches other applets behaviour, i.e Network applet remains when you are disconnected from a network.
Comment 2 Mathias Dietrich 2013-04-11 08:10:29 UTC
I can open the outfaded entries on click in the presence-applet to go online again.

If I want to have the icon shown the whole time I can set it to "show always" in the systempanel entries. At the moment the "automatically" setting is somehow useless, because it's identical with "show always".

Using this option would give the user more freedom and less distraction, if he wants to stay offline.
