Description Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2013-04-09 06:20:09 UTC
OS: opensuse 12.3 x86_64
KDE: 4.10.2 from KDE:Release repository
Account: Gmail IMAP (Disconnected mode)

Sometimes mails in folder disappear and folder icon shows up like syncing(animated image) but actually no process shown in status bar. Although disconnected mode is enabled for imap still somehow mails are disappearing from folders and then don't show up. This seems to happen with folders having too many mails. So far I've faced in 2 folders one is obvious that is "Sent Mail" folder of gmail. And there was another folder having too many mails which all disappeared and only few of them were showing up later.
Also how can I recover those mails?

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. No exact steps to reproduce but seems large folders having too many mails can have this problem.

Note that mouse over on the folder shows actual mail count and folder size but message list displays only few mails. There is no filter selected for the folder.

This bug might be related with bug #320158

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
