Apparently Kmail does not "see" the semantic capabilites even when they are active when being run stand alone. When opening the composer, I get the message """ You do not have the semantic desktop system enabled. The following features will not work correctly: Recipient auto-completion Distribution lists Per-contact crypto preferences """ with the "Configure" button. Which, if selected, brings me to the Nepomuk preferences, where I see that everything is already enabled and nothing left to enable. So the suspicion is that Kmail does not see the semantic capabilities and thus suggests to enable them.
