Description Ian Powell 2013-04-04 12:15:02 UTC
I've just been through my "/var/log/messages" file looking for some errors displayed (too fast to read) when booting up between grub and "kdm" login.

I saw these comments in the "messages" so i checked the "/usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc" file and there are no "multiple occurrences" of either sections or keys.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot up system
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Messages appear in /var/log/messages

Expected Results:
Not to see errors if there are none

System still works fine but its something that needs fixing

i haven't heard such a thing before, and the code didn't change upstream in a decade.
i suggest you report this to suse instead.

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
