As far as I know currently Okular can't determine language of opened documents. It would be nice to have such a feature at Okular. This feature may help in two areas:

1. In text based documents: can be implemented e-book devices like built-in dictionaries ( http://books.torontoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Kindle_WP3.jpg )

2. In image based documents: can be developed simple OCR tools to convert selection, one page or entire document to text ( http://i.imgur.com/02xC46E.png )

I don't sure but probably doing this not a big deal for PDF, ePUB, MOBI, etc. Can be obtained from some values of documents. But I don't have any idea for CBR, CBZ, etc. Maybe following may help for this type files:

1. An option to (temporarily) define the language of the current document can be added to the menu. For example: File > Document Language > English

2. A fallback language like KDE text editors' fallback encoding feature. If a user read mostly English comics she/he can set English as fallback language, If she/he likes manga then it can be setted to Japanese.

Reproducible: Always
