It would be nice to add an (or more) attachment with the initial bug report.
Currently you have to first submit the bug report (wait for page load) and THEN you can add an attachmet.

IIRC I have seen such feature on the FDO.org bug tracker.

Reproducible: Always

Just to clarify:
I'm referring to the "guided" bug submission here. In the non-guided version attachments can be added with the initial bug report.

I don't think this is worth the trouble. If attachments are needed they can be added after the initial report. Let's keep the guided version as short as possible.
Comment 3 Richard Llom 2013-03-19 19:45:30 UTC
Well, the guided version is already quite long...

However, I have seen bug reports where files (e.g. screen shots) are uploaded to filehosters and linked within the bug description. But the files on the filehosters often don't stay there as long, as the bug exists - this is bad.

The uploads to the filehosters are done, because the reporter doesn't see (and know of) any possibility to upload a file to the bugtracker (IMO).

So if no attachment upload, I would suggest at least a hint/sentence that this is possible after submitting the bug.

I tend to agree that the guided page missing attachment interface encourages users uploading logs, sreenshots, archives onto 3rd party sites, and that is really not good for developers and triagers, especially when dealing with not-so-new reports.

If adding the attachment interface is too much a maintenance burden, what about just modifing the description text under the "Additional information" field and inform users they can and should upload attachments here after the report is filed, like bugs.gentoo.org does in the screenshot? A simple grep implies that should not be hard by modifying create-guided.html.tmpl, since bugs.kde.org already uses its own customized description text.

That sounds fine to me, although I would highlight the sentence more as it is on the screen shot. (Otherwise you still risk people overseeing this and uploading to ext. filehosters.)
