Plasma is blurred and nice everywhere, except in screen brightness and top screen menubar. Randomly the issue go away, temporarily but I don't know why. I've tried to delete cache, restart plasma, kwin reboot but I can't resolve the problem. Brightness is now fixed, topmenu is still not. tip: to fix it you may want to use Plasma::Dialog instead of frame. Reassigning bug, and changing title.
I just clean up compositing code in kded-appmenu... But I already see this bug and from my experience: - krunner is broken too (randomly) - plasma panel is sometimes broken too It seems to happen when i plug a new screen to my laptop. Can you confirm that krunner is broken too ?
What you are referring to is when plasma fails to know if composite is active, that is a different thing I believe.
I really think it's a bug somewhere in plasma libs... I've got this bug many times and only working solution is to remove /var/tmp/kdecase-username to fix menubar, krunner and panel at the same time.
Yes, I had transparency problems with KRunner too. It was after switching themes, but I couldn't reproduce it either. See also attachment 78260 [details]
Created attachment 80007 [details] volume and brightness plasma popup I'm using opensuse plasma theme and problem seems gone away... but problem persist with screen brightness popup. Sometime there is no transparency. Volume indicator work well every time. See the attachments.

I close this bug. For brightness popup, try to logout and to clean /var/tmp/kdecache-user
