The Amazon MP3 Store module does not work in Germany any more: You can search for and select tracks, can click the Buy button and are forwarded to the Amazon web site. There you can finish your order, but afterwards you're given no option to actually download your new MP3s. The MP3s also do not appear in Amazons cloud player.

(BTW: Before buying, I clicked the link presented by Amarok which said that it would enable downloader support at Amazon and it would be easier to fetch the tracks after buying. I don't know, if this was rgiht or wrong or irrelevant to my problem...)

I phoned the Amazon support and the guy at the other end told me (without me telling him I used a third party application before) that apparently I somehow managed to use an outdated way to order the MP3s which is no longer supported by Amazon at least in Germany. (He suspected I might have had the MP3s on my watchlist for quite a while before actually buying them. I then told him I used a third party application which he said would require an update then.)

The support guy asked me to order the MP3s again using the web site and canceled my previous order.

Apparently, MP3s now need to be downloaded from the Cloud Player, and for this to work the shop system (at least) uses new internal order numbers.

The order numbers assigned to the order initiated by Amarok started with "028-..." while the order numbers of my new order using the web site started with "D...".

Sorry if this description is a bit wishy-washy, but as I've no idea how Amarok's MP3-ordering feature is implemented technically I cannot give better details. If something is still unclear, feel free to ask.

If I was just too stupid to use it correctly, also feel free to tell me or to point me to the fine manual, if there is any I missed. :)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Search tracks in the Amazon MP3 Store plugin.
2. Put these tracks into your shopping basket.
3. Click "Buy", click the link to enable downloader support at Amazon and complete your order at the web shop. (BTW, my default browser which opened is Chromium.)
Actual Results:
The order will be completed but you will not be given any option to actually download your MP3s.

Expected Results:
There should be a way to download the MP3s after buying them.

No idea what additional information might be helpful - just ask if something is missing.

Thanks for your report, it's more detailed than most ones. :)

"Sadly" this still works fine for me:

1. setting store country to Germany
2. searching for "cure"
3. checking out the great song "Lullaby"
4. Amazon website appears, everything works fine

Same if I try several items and use the combined checkout.

<rant>
Why does Amazon need to constantly change its API without notifying developers????!??
</rant>

Were you located in Germany when trying to check out your items? Using a "German IP", no Tor, etc?

Mh, tried again with Lacrimas Profundere's "Dear Amy" - it does not work for me. I can order the song and proceed to checkout, but after completing the order at Amazon.de I do not get any option to actually download the track.

Yes, I'm not using any VPN or anonymisation service whatsoever, my current IP (O2 Alice fixed line) is 85.180.117.138.

Screenshot of the "order completed" page/screen

This page appears after completing the order.

I cannot find any link for downloading the MP3 there, no matter where I look.

The "siehe unten" (see below) does not help, as below this box there are only suggestions what to buy else. ("Further articles", "new for you", "suggestions for you", ...)

Does the confirmation mail you get contain a link maybe?

Setting status to confirmed, it still doesn't work for me here, I have apparently no means to download.

Ah, sorry, apparently I forgot to follow up to your last question. It seems to have been obsoleted by your latest tests but just to complete the information: No, I could not find a download link in the confirmation mails I got after my order.

I also just had a chat with amazon support about this exact problem and what I got from them matched pretty much the description in the original report:

MP3 orders using the shopping cart are no longer supported, only one-click orders are. Shopping cart orders don't go to your cloud player since only digital orders go there. Order numbers of digital orders start with a "D" whereas "analog" orders start with "303". So if you order through amarok, you neither get a download link for the .amz file nor can you download them from cloud player after.

Solution for me was as well to cancel the order and order them again using the website.

Sadly not much we can do about this, as the problem is triggered by Amazon :(
