I created an ical-Calendar on a mounted network share /media/cal/private.ics (smb via cifs). The file "private.ics" appeared but after adding some appointments to the calendar the file was stil empty. I tested it as well on a local drive and it works like it should. Other programs (i.e. kate) are able to read and write to that mounted network share, KOrganizer as well is able to read calendars from there but it does not save anything Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. mount a smb via cifs to an location like /media/cal/ 2. open KOrganizer and create a new calender in iCal Format 3. select /media/cal/test.ics as location 4. add a new appointment to this calender 5. open file /media/cal/test.ics with kate or any other program -> it's empty 6. go to the calendars list in KOrganizer, select test.ics 7. press F5 -> the added appointment disappears Actual Results: The added appointment does not exist anymore Expected Results: The added appointment should have been written to the file and it should stay there
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
