The 'Notifications' item in the System Tray (KDE4/Plasma) provides alerts relating to file transfer completion, incoming email, IM activity, etc. At present, these notifications remain visible until the user actively closes them. This is useful for servers, but not for desktop use, where you sometimes find 37 'old' notifications in there relating to old file transfers etc. Suggestion: in the 'Configure Notifications' screen, there is a settings menu with the following: " Select which information to display: [x] Application notifications [x] File transfers and jobs " Here, perhaps we could add an option: "Notifications expire after X minutes", where X can be separately set for the two categories (better: by application!), or set to "Never". Reproducible: Always

everytime I save file in kate over the network I get file-saved notification... fine fine. But it builds up. So within a few hours my plasma notifications are filled up with useless expired notifications - perhaps blended with some important. Some notifications are relevant only in an instant - other you have to see.

I am missing this feature in Plasma5. Currently using 5.12.2 and notifications pile up over days literally.
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
