When there's an incoming message from e.g. Quassel the message indicator correctly turns green showing that there's a message, but it doesn't respond to clicks anymore. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have the message indicator applet in system tray. 2. Get an incoming message from e.g. Quassel or Kopete. 3. Click on the message indicator widget. Actual Results: The widget turns green, but doesn't respond to clicks Expected Results: When clicked on the widget should popup a list showing the which application(s) that have messages.
Confirmed here. Also in KDE 4.10 in Ubuntu Quantal.
Confirmed both on my home computer AND my work computer (Ubuntu Quantal, KDE 4.10 in both cases). Applications using the Message Indicator: Kopete, Konversation. (Same problem if Quassel is running instead of Konversation.) Thunderbird is running too but does not appear to use the Message Indicator. No combination of applications appear to make any difference. The Message Indicator is unresponsive no matter what.
Confirmed. Same problem here. I hope this is fixed soon (going on for several weeks)
Confirmed here. Kubuntu 13.04 KDE 4.10.2
Still have this problem in KDE 4.10.4 in Kubuntu 13.04. Message Indicator doesn't see the Thunderbird and doesn't indicates unread messages in it. Before 4.10.0 it was working.
Created attachment 80409 [details] Screenshot. Messsage indicator doesn't see the Thunderbird.
Same problem in Ubuntu 14.04 (KDE 4.13). Has been persistantly not working since upgrading to 14.04. I get a green indicator to say that I have a chat message in Kopete, but I cannot click on it to go to the message. It was working in Ubuntu 12.04. This actually seems to make it very difficult to read messages that I received whilst I was away from my desk, because unless I click to open the message when it pops up, there doesn't appear to be an easy way to access new messages.

Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
