Description Lastique 2013-02-20 07:18:20 UTC
I have Kubuntu 12.04 x86-64 with KDE 4.10 installed, AMD Catalyst drivers 13.1.

If I start konsole and try to resize its window with the mouse, the X server crashes and restarts so that I'm thrown back to the system login screen. I have only these effects enabled: Fade, Hilight Window, Login, Maximize, Minimize Animation, Slide, Sliding Popups, Transluency, Startup Feedback, Box Switch, Outline. Sometimes I can see for a brief moment the window being resized (with the size being printed in the center of it) but then X crashes.

I'm not sure if konsole is the one to blame for this crash, so I'm not assigning the bug to it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start konsole.
2. Try resizing it by dragging the lower right window corner with the mouse.

Actual Results:
X server crashes.

Expected Results:
X server should not crash.

Updating Catalyst to 13.2 beta 6 does not help. Also, I do not see crashes when resizing other applications, so the problem is probably specific to konsole after all. Reassigning the bug.

Sorry, but like I have said in http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=227&t=109597#p256984, for such crash of X server you can only blame the driver .

By the way, when you move one report to another product, please check the "Reset Assignee to default" option. Otherwise, the developers of the new product (konsole) will not receive a message telling them some report is reassigned to them.
