Description Silver Salonen 2013-02-18 14:22:22 UTC
In the past selected text in Kate could be closed within just by pressing quotes/apostrophes/brackets key. In Kate of KDE 4.10 it does not work any more. It was one of the very good and simple usage improving points.
Is this functionality still available via some plugin or extension?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select text, eg. some text
2. Press quote-key: "
Actual Results:
Text gets replace by a quote

Expected Results:
The selected text is enclosed within quotes, eg. "some text"

Yes, see bug #313455, not officially fixed, though.
