Created attachment 77366 [details] screen shot of my desktop with 7 windows open but the pager widget recognizes just 2 After upgrading to KDE 4.10 the pager leaves the desktop preview empty even when the virtual desktop is crowded. Only few programs have their windows recognized. Among those exceptions are - pager settings - ksnapshot - AcquireImages - Panorama Creator - Avahi SSH Server Browser - KDE Wallet configuration - KsCD - Nepomuk Server configuration - password dialog of Kdesu - Kompare - KTimer Some Programs show an outline while a splash screen is shown during startup but the outline disappears when the main program window takes over, among those are - Google Earth - RetroShare - Kdenlive - Kwave - XMind and among the many programs which windows are ignored there are - dolphin - KInfo - Konqueror - FireFox, Chrome, Opera - LibreOffice - Kate - KWrite - SystemSettings - konsole and many more. This is a dual head system with 8 virtual desktop, "different widgets for each desktop" activated. The problem appears with the pager on the panel or on the desktop.
I confirm this bug (using Kubuntu Precise and KDE 4.10.1). Actually, the only window properly appearing in pager is VMware Player
I confirm this bug, and it manifests itself independently of the Qt Graphic System: "system" or "raster". Note: option "different widgets for each desktop" is deactivated. System status: Linux arch 3.7.10-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 28 09:59:14 CET 2013 i686 GNU/Linux qt4 4.8.4-13 kde 4.10.1-1 Temporary solution, that works for me: run 'kwin --replace' after loading KDE.
Running kwin --replace & from a console works for me, too
I also confirm kwin --replace & works.
This issue appears to have been fixed since 4.10.1 - currently running 4.10.2 and the display is active for any window
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
