Description Wolfgang Mader 2013-02-13 09:26:51 UTC
If kmail is configured to play a noification sound on new mail, this sound is delayed by aprox a second. Even if the mail has been already opened bevor the sound is trigged, it is played while reading the mail.

This happens both with phonon-vlc and phonon-gstreamer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure kmail to play a notification sound on new mail
2. Wait for new mailb
3. Observer the delay
Actual Results:
Notification comes too late.

Expected Results:
Notification should be played right at the time when mail arrives

1 second is not a problem.
Just time that all system activate it.
For me it's invalid

Also happenes on Kubuntu 12.04 with backports.
The notifications are off maybe by more than one second.
I've managed to read the email an only then the notification apeared.

The notification should be instant.
Comment 3 Laurent Montel 2013-03-28 14:53:15 UTC
"The notification should be instant." we can't
because we wait until mailfilteragent was filter mails.
Comment 4 Ovidiu-Florin BOGDAN 2013-03-28 14:57:15 UTC
That means https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118213 is fixed?
