Description bent95kr 2013-02-11 12:25:56 UTC
Using a wacom intous5 tablet, the layout under the “pad buttons” tab doesn't at all match a intous5 tablet. I can't configure any express keys, since none are shown, and I can't configure the touch ring or the key inside of it either. My tablet doesn't have a touch strip nor a wheel , which it is shown as having. Also, under the “general” tab, the tablet shows up as “unknown Waltop device 0x27”, even though it is shown under "input devices" that it's a wacom intous5.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Connect Wacom intous5 touch medium.
2.Open Wacom tablet settings.
3.Goto "Pad buttons" page.
Actual Results:
It shows a different layout than it should, and I can't configure the express keys, the touch ring or the key inside it.

Expected Results:
It should have shown a correct layout, where I would have been able to configure my intous5 tablet.

My computer is an Acer Aspire X3990, and I use a freshly installed copy of linux mint 14 kde x64, which is fully uppdated via the update mananger.

Which version of the Wacom tablet kcm is used in Mint?

And what tablet ID does the Intous have?

You can get the tablet id via the console by typing

xsetwacom get "Wacom Bamboo" tabletid

While "Wacom Bamboo" should be replaced by whatever you pad is named in the output of

xsetwacom list dev

I don't really know how to find out which version of the Wacom tablet kcm is used in Mint. I'm pretty new to this...
The intous5 pad, named "Wacom Intuos5 touch M Pen pad" has the ID of 39.

In the system settings, when you have the Tablet configuration open.
Click on Help -> About Grafic-Tablet Configuration

If you have an older release 1.3.7 or 1.3.8 or something like this you need to add your device to the database at
/usr/share/kde4/apps/wacomtablet/data/wacom_devicelist

Add The following section:

[0027]
model=PTH-650/K
layout=bl_4
name=Wacom Intuos5 touch M
padbuttons=9
wheel=no
touchring=yes
touchstripl=no
touchstripr=no

Otherwise, there is a ppa with the latest release at
 https://launchpad.net/~maret/+archive/wacom-unstable

but I'm not sure how good this might work with Linux Mint

Okay, I now found that my verson of the graphic tablet configuration is 1.3.6. And your solution worked perfectly! Thank you.
