I decided to create another default panel to see if it would have the same behaviour with system tray. When I created it, it showed up at the top and had same behaviour. Some icons on sytem trey were even outside of the panel, like floating on the desktop. So decided to close duplicate default panel and this is when entire plasma desktop crashed - Unusual behavior I noticed: Just after booting some of the icons that were supposed to be on the system tray on the default panel at the bottom of the screen showed up as floating at the top of the screen. I could not move or click them. System tray had few ohter icons which were misaligned horizontally and a lot of white space on its right side. Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5.
