(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konqueror Version: KDE 2.2.0 Severity: wishlist Installed from: Mandrake RPMs Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Mandrake 8.0. KDE 2.2. Hello I think it could be nice and useful to be able to assign or preset navigation actions to mousebutton combinations e.g.: Press and hold right mb then click left mb: Go back (or some other ) Press and hold left mb then click right mb: Go forward (or some other) Just my 0.01 cent. Kind regards and thank you very much for KDE! Anders Torring Stockholm Sweden (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
This is how Opera does it, and it's (in my opinion) infinitely more useful and intuitive than Konqueror's single click to go back (which interferes badly with the context menu).
Maybe you can solve this feature request with khotkeys.
Actually it works nicely now with khotkeys (as of kde 3.2.1). To check, simply start khotkeys; the konqueror gestures should not be disabled. For me this wish has been resolved by now.
I don't see how khotkeys can accomplish what the original bug report requests. This is not really a mouse gesture -- there is no mouse drag motion -- but a mouse button combination. It also does not help that clicking on "help" in khotkeys does not bring up any documentation.
Yes you're right. khotkeys only supports "real" gestures, not click-only actions. Maybe this feature request should be moved to khotkeys?
I prefer ctrl+pgup, ctrl+pgdown to move left, right respectively across the tabs (I am coming form firefox background). Currently I get this done by creating my own "custom keys". But it would be nice if this is included by default.
