Description Blue Glacier 2013-02-08 14:12:35 UTC
When i click on "Get new Themes..." in System Settings, the program itself immediately crashes. Downloading new window decorations does not work either.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go into "System Settings"
2. Click on "Workspace Appearance" and then on "Desktop Theme"
3. Click on "Get New Decorations..."
Actual Results:
System Settings crashes.

Expected Results:
Should have shown a download dialog for new themes.
Comment 1 Blue Glacier 2013-02-08 14:15:57 UTC
I'm sorry: Either you click on "Window Decoration" and then "Get New Decorations" OR "Desktop Theme" and then "Get New Themes". The result is the same: System Settings will crash.

Then please provide backtrace for one or both cases of the crashes. See http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Backtraces

Debug Output for the crash after clicking on "Get New Decorations"

Although I recompiled kde4 with -DWITH_DEBUG, the crash report still says that the output is useless...

I don't think that is the right option. Use -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=debugfull instead.

But that probably doesn't matter. The backtrace looks quite strange.
Comment 6 Christoph Feck 2013-02-11 02:34:01 UTC
On BSD, they usually look different, but when the debug symbols were available, they would be as helpful as other backtraces.
Comment 7 Blue Glacier 2013-02-13 21:26:27 UTC
Tell me how to recompile KDE with debug support enabled and I'll give you a useful crash report.

If the problem still exists in later versions ,please provide a better backtrace.
