After upgrading to 4.10, KMail cannot connect to my IMAP account on a dovecot server. It always fails with the "LOGIN FAILED, AUTHENTICATION METHOD NOT SUPPORTED". These accounts were configured using kmail 4.9, and used to work fine. Every time the resource starts, I get the following message in the akonadi console logs: A message was received from the server with no job to handle it: "A000002 OK Pre-login capabilities listed, post-login capabilities have more. " On the other hand, my gmail imap account seems to work fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create an imap resource against a Dovecot imap server, using any authentication method (except plain, maybe, because plain is not supported on my server) 2. Try to connect Actual Results: Login failed, authentication mode <whatever authentication mode you configured at step 1> is not supported by the server. Expected Results: Imap resource connected
In fact, as other have pointed out, the issue seems to lie with an openssl upgrade. I was using openssl-1.0.1c with kmail 4.9, and simultaneously upgraded to kmail4.10 and openssl-1.0.1d. Reverting back to kmail 4.9 does not solve my issue, but reverting to openssl-1.0.1d does. I don't know your plans with regards to openssl compatibility, so I'll leave that open for now.
