Description Henrik Hudson 2013-01-30 17:26:09 UTC
I use samba and nfs mounts. When doing a "save as" to those locations when they're mounted works fine. However, if they become unmounted and/or go away for some other reason kmail / kontact doesn't notice and the "save as" dialog for attachments just spins and locks up kontact. It never times out and/or does a check to see if the location is still there first.

I tried deleting the "saveAttachment" field from kontactrc, but that doesn't seem to reset the location.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
have a samba / nfs mount. save an email attachment to them. unmount and try and save another attachment.
Actual Results:
kontact freeses / spins and becomes unresponsive. terminate is required.

Expected Results:
file check to see if the location exists and if not, bounce back to the users home directory or other default

provide a way to manually reset the location.

it's not a kmail/kontact bug. It"s a kdelibs bug.
I reassign it.

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!

Well, there is a blast from the past.

I did happen to start using KDE again recently and in testing this with a Samba share this morning (save to mount, umount, try to save) Kontact doesn't freeze and shows your home directory.

I would consider this fixed / no longer an issue.
