Description Andreas K. Huettel 2013-01-25 17:07:50 UTC
When I select "Forward", "im Text" (inline? within the message text?) in the composer, an empty e-mail (except for my signature) is created. No trace of any forwarding.

(Selecting some text with the mouse beforehand does not help either.)

Look at your template and reset to default if necessary.
it's just your config which is bad.
Comment 2 Andreas K. Huettel 2013-01-25 17:26:06 UTC
Hmm, all three identities have no "self-made templates" set (the box to customize them is unchecked).

When I check it to customize it, the following is filled in as default for forward:

%REM="Standardvorlage für Weiterleitungen"%-

---------- Weitergeleitete Nachricht ----------

Betreff: %OFULLSUBJECT
Datum: %ODATE, %OTIMELONG
Von: %OFROMADDR
%OADDRESSEESADDR

%TEXT
-------------------------------------------------------------

This fixes forwarding, but I guess "enabling customized templates" is not the real solution.

When I press "Copy global default templates", the content of the "forward template" is replaced with a single line
%BLANK
which seems wrong somehow. ???
Comment 3 Andreas K. Huettel 2013-01-26 12:57:08 UTC
So where should I reset the templates, if not in my personal configuration? (see comment 2)

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 5 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 22:21:29 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
