Description Ondřej Bockschneider 2013-01-18 21:09:21 UTC
When I run some fullscreen application via wine which uses different resolution than I use normally and then I close it, some of plasmoids are at bad positions and panels are usualy broken - they have bad length or position. This incident sometimes also causes persistent problems with panels positions - my vertical panel on left side is on right side and when I repair it then after reboot of logoff that panel is again at bad position.
So in these cases I must restore settings from my backups.

PS: This bug is very uncomfortable. But I can say it also reduces time spent playing computer games via wine. :-)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run some fullscreen application via wine that changes the resolution.
2. Close that application.
3. Feel the power.
Actual Results:
My plasmoids are on bad positions. My panels have broken parameters. Sometimes it brokes the settings pernamently.

Expected Results:
The plasmoids should be on right positions and panels should have right parameters. There should be everything in same state as before running fullscreen application.

Debian testing,
Kernel: 3.2.0-4-rt-686-pae
Arch: i686
Resolution: 1024x600 (also happens at desktop with 1920x1080)

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
