The notification poup always appears twice: Once near the panel where it's supposed to be, and another time on the top-left corner of the screen (see screenshot)
Created attachment 76245 [details] A notification popup appearing on screen twice (upper-left and lower-right corner)
for me 3 notification popups appear each time. One on top-left corner, and two on top-right corner (where the correct one should be on my desktop).
removing ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc fixed this for me. Seems stuff was duplicated but not visible on desktop. I had 2 invisible panels :)
Created attachment 77214 [details] Faulty plasma-desktop-appletsrc I can confirm geekonek's observation: I had an additional invisible panel as well. I attach my plasma-desktop-appletsrc with the duplicate panels. After removing [Containments][3] and all applets in it, the problem was gone. So the question is: Where did that come from? What sadly cannot be seen in the file anymore because I had removed it earlier is that originally, [Containments][3]'s "activityId" contained the text of a notification instead of an Id. Maybe that can hint to the reason for the duplication?
There still the «free» notification, and the other one hidden until we click on «Notification» in System Tray. Is it normal? Because it really annoy me to delete and delete and delete notifications. And if I don’t set any notification plasmoid, I haven’t notifications (is it also normal?!?)
When notification applet is on system tray, there’s no icon for this applet (and it disappear sometimes) and notifications also appears on the screen, and not in the notification applet. But when the notification applet is not in the system tray, it seems to works.

It seems it's fixed since KDE 4.10.3 (at least for me).
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
