Description Markus 2013-01-05 15:02:05 UTC
Kmail is unsresponsive upon accessing an imap mail box when akonadi version is greater 1.8.1.

With akonadi 1.8.1 kmail as shipped with kde 4.9.5 works fine. After upgrading akonadi to 1.8.80 or 1.9.0 kmail hangs when i try to access an imap mail box. A message shown says: "Fetch job: Unknown Error". This happens with my own cyrus imapd as well as with some other imap account freely available on the net. Reinstalling kdepimlibs or kmail does not help. Downgrading akonadi to 1.8.1 does. DB backend is Sqlite. Qt is 4.8.4.

Thank you!

Markus

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm this. After upgrading to KDE 4.10 RC2 akonadi stopped working.

Its not possible to provide any logs because of the complete lockup of akonadi. It just stops working when opening any mail account.

Distro is Gentoo ~amd64
KDE ist 4.10 RC2 compiled from kde overlay.

I also have the same problem after upgrading to KDE4.10 RC2
Distro is Gentoo ~amd64
Comment 3 Sebastian Wessalowski 2013-02-07 00:11:30 UTC
I was told to use mysql as the database backend. If you are still on any RC you could try this.

After upgrading to 4.10 final akonadi completely broke. i am still searching for a fix.

It also do not work on 4.10 final. akonadi-server is compiled with USE-flag: "mysql sqlite"

after deleteing .kde4/share/apps/kmail2, .kde4/shar/config/kmail*, and ~/.config/akonadi, Kmail works fine on my system.

I can confirm that my existing and working akonadi SQLITE3 setup completely broke on upgrade to KDE 4.10.0 (Kubuntu backports packages). Configuring MYSQL solved the problem after I had reconfigured all my Imap and calendar/contacts resources from scratch.
Comment 7 Sebastian Wessalowski 2013-02-08 01:28:54 UTC
This bug does not belong to my problem anymore. Downgrading openssl to 1.0.1c fixed the problems.

My problem was Bug #314587

The IMAP resource has a new maintainer, reassigning to him.
Comment 9 Christian Mollekopf 2013-11-28 11:30:36 UTC
Please reopen if this still applies to >= 4.11.3
