WinSCP has a nice feature to help navigate in parallel two directories that have "mirror" structure (for example a local web application folder and the remote server application folder): it's a button in the toolbar which is called "Synchronized browsing" (a two-state button - active/inactive) When the button is active, any relative folder change in one pane will make a similar relative folder change in the other pane. This makes it easy to navigate in parallel the two folders without having to perform twice the same clicks in both panels. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: It's a feature request
Supported since 2004.
Dear Alex, If this feature already exists, then where can it be found? :) There is no such option nowhere in any toolbar nor menu item. Please do not confuse this with "Synchronize folders", which is completely different. (Synchronize folders means to perform a kind of "rsync".) The suggested feature (synchronized browsing) is simply a navigation helping hand, to automatically change dirs in the other panel when changing dirs in one panel. (This is helpful mostly when connected to remote SFTP servers)
Settings->Panel->Buttons->"Toggle-button for sync-browsing" It is not visible by default. You will see a new button on both sides next to the navigation path. Please do not change the status. I can reopen the report again if I mistook it.
Thanks for the clarification ;) It's a bit weird that the setting is applied per panel (i.e. it's not symmetrical), but at least the feature exists. :) (And it's good that now this information will remain visible online, in case some other people will google it.)
