In kubuntu 12.40, Linux 3.2.0-34-generic (and older in 3.2.0-x builds), kde 4.9.4 and older (as I can remember all 4.9.x have this issue) 1). I can't copy file to device using Dolphin (kio_obexftp?) mater again I can't copy anything 2). dmesg [97710.792010] Bluetooth: hci0 command tx timeout 3). evently the same event stored into syslog but further 4). I can easily browse the device using Dolphin and may even create new folders 5). I can send files to device using bluedevil-sendfile or KDE Send Files dialog. 6). I can send files to device using console obexftp tool. The Bluez probablu working as expected so the problem more likely somewhere into kio_obexftp or into bluedevil... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Using Dolphin file manager start browsing device and navigate do any folder on the device's file system you have permissions write into. 2. Drag any local file and drop it on the folder you opened at step 1. Actual Results: nothing happens, even more after same time you'll loose ability to browse the folder or even device fs Expected Results: 1. The job progress indicator should became visible on the system tray 2. the file should be copied to device's folder and visible there via device interface or via KDE's browse device feature As for me this bug appeared at KDE 4.9.x the Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.8.x worked just fine see also discussion here https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=107671&p=255126 List of installed packages related to bluetooth system ii bluedevil 1.2.2-0ubuntu1 KDE Bluetooth stack ii bluez 4.98-2ubuntu7 Bluetooth tools and daemons ii bluez-alsa 4.98-2ubuntu7 Bluetooth ALSA support ii bluez-alsa:i386 4.98-2ubuntu7 Bluetooth ALSA support ii bluez-cups 4.98-2ubuntu7 Bluetooth printer driver for CUPS ii libbluedevil1 1.9.1-0ubuntu1 A Qt wrapper for bluez ii libbluetooth3 4.98-2ubuntu7 Library to use the BlueZ Linux Bluetooth stack ii pulseaudio-module-bluetooth 1:1.1-0ubuntu15.1 Bluetooth module for PulseAudio sound server ii libmulticobex1 0.23-1build3 multi-protocol cable OBEX library ii libobexftp0 0.23-1build3 object exchange file transfer library ii libopenobex1 1.5-2build1 OBEX protocol library ii obex-data-server 0.4.6-0ubuntu1 D-Bus service for OBEX client and server side functionality ii obexd-client 0.44-0ubuntu1 D-Bus OBEX client ii obexfs 0.11-1 mount filesystem of ObexFTP capable devices ii obexftp 0.23-1build3 file transfer utility for devices that use the OBEX protocol ii obextool 0.35-0ubuntu2
Can you try this with a recent kernel? that dmesg output indicates something is wrong down there. Try to get a 3.7 kernel and test it out. Thanks !
Closing the bug for inactivity Please, if you can reproduce this with Kernel 3.7 or 3.8 feel free to reopen the bug. Thanks !
