Hi, I'm using kubuntu 12.04 with kde backport PPA 4.9.4. I'm not sure this is a bug, it could be a kde limitation, but discussing on the IRC chan can't confirm this. So, the problem is, I have 3 activities. For each activities, I'd like to have no widget on the desktop but a different wallpapers (one wallpaper per activity). BUT I'd like to have a different set of widget on the dashboard per activity! I mean my activities are, for example, home - work - entertainement. I'd like to have one wallpaper for each activity (this is ok, i succeed in it) i want to have on the dashboard and only on the dashboard for home activity my home folder, an analog clock and the weather report for work activity my working directory, the note widget, and another folder view with file attached to the activity for my entertainement, a RSS feed reader (like rssnow), and videos and images folder view. That's just an example to explain the problem I can't have different set of widget on the dashboard for my different activities. I hope i'm clear enough (i'm not a good english speaker :-( ) . So is it possible to obtain this ? Is it a bug ? A kde llimitation ? thks to reply !
Discussion on the forum seems to indicate this functionality isn't implement (yet?) in kde. I hope it will be soon Forum : http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=109269&p=255857
Hi. I think this could be a great integration for Plasma. The concept of "Activity" in KDE is great, but needs more attention. I'm using KDE 4.12.5
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
