After I created a new folder with the web interface to my mail account (web.de), the new folder is not shown by kmail. But it is shown when I select "Serverside Subscriptions" - grayed and with a selection marker, because I do not have serverside subscriptions enabled. "Local Abonnements" does not show the new folder. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new folder via the web interface on your IMAP account (with kmail/kontact it's not possible -see my other bug ... :( 2. Open kontact/kmail, right click on the IMAP account, select "Local Abonnements" and "Serverside Subscriptions" 3. compare the folders shown Actual Results: see above Expected Results: a new folder on the IMAP account not created via kmail shall be shown and accessible (selected by default) if "Serverside Subscription" is disabled and the whole mailbox/account in "Local Abonnements" is checkmarked. I consider the bug major because I can not use my mail with KDE mail app. Every major network service should be accessible with a KDE app, because KDE has still the best integration. But as it goes the last few years since KDE 4, I'm thinking more and more to switch... Once upon a time, KDE had the highest quality upon all desktops, even compared to Mac and Windows. What happened???
I have exactly the same problem for kmail 4.9.3. I also use a mail account from web.de. A mail account from gmx.de also shows this behaviour in kmail. In kmail 4.7.3 everything works fine for me. Today I installed Kubuntu Quantal Quetzal (a new clean install) with kmail 4.9.3.
Same for me in Gentoo Linux, also appering after upgrading to 4.9.4
Same problem still present in 4.9.5
I can't see the folders created in Imap account even if I created them in Kmail and Serverside Subscription is enabled and folders checkmarked. Kde Mint 13 Kde 4.9.5. Tested also with fresly installed Mint 14 Kde 4.9.5 with same results.

The same behavior on Kubuntu 13.10 (KDE 4.11.5) with Exchange IMAP
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
I can confirm this bug with 16.08. Only restarting Akonadi shows a new folder in KMail.
Thanks for your feedback, Thomas.
