Description karaluh 2012-11-29 10:32:29 UTC
I have google contacts resource configured. Today for no apparent reason certificate error appeared saying, that:

Serwer nie przeszedł testu uwierzytelnienia (www.google.com).

Nieprawidłowy certyfikat autoryzujący ten certyfikat
Główny certyfikat autoryzujący nie jest zaufany do tego celu

Which translates to:
Server didn't pass authentication test
Incorrect certificate that authorizes this certificate
Main authorizing certificate is not trusted to this purpose

Which tells nothing to somebody who is not an expert in the field of electronic certificates. I'm able to see more details, which only makes the matter worse.

The error message should clearly state with simple words what exactly is wrong, and what are the dangers of continuing to use the resource.

Reproducible: Always

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kaddressbook (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
