Description Don Carter 2012-11-17 22:33:21 UTC
Per the User guide, "Right-clicking an institution name brings up an Institution Options sub-menu". While in the institution list when I right click on a Institition, I receive an "Account Options" menu. Not sure, maybe I am doing something wrong...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Accounts list
2. Left click on individual account to select
3. Right click
Actual Results:
Receive a menu labeled "Account options"

Expected Results:
Receive a menu labeled "Institution options"
Comment 1 Thomas Baumgart 2012-11-18 09:34:02 UTC
Why would you want to see an option menu for one type of object when you select another one? That does make sense. I double checked: both git master and 4.6 work as designed.
Comment 2 Thomas Baumgart 2012-11-18 10:41:17 UTC
s/does make/does not make/

Sorry for the confusion that might have caused.

I'm not sure that that is what he wants, but there seems to be a contradiction in his comments.

On the opening line he says ...
a) "While in the institution list when I right click on a Institition, I receive an "Account Options".
but in steps to reproduce ...
b) "1. Open Accounts list"

item a) would definitely be wrong, but I certainly don't see that either. A right click on an institution produces Institution options for me, too. The stated steps to reproduce are what happens and what is expected.
Comment 4 Don Carter 2012-11-18 13:51:09 UTC
Please see attached screen shot and tell me what I am doing incorrectly.

Your Steps to reproduce says
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Accounts list
2. Left click on individual account to select
3. Right click Actual Results: Receive a menu labeled "Account options"

and I think as this doesn't reference Institutions anywhere, only accounts, it has caused confusion.

However, your screen shot does appear to show incorrect operation in Institutions view. This does not happen for us on Linux systems, so there may well be a KMyMoney on Windows issue.

It would be useful to know if another KMyMoney on Windows user can or cannot reproduce this, and on what revision of KMyMoney on Windows.
Comment 6 Don Carter 2012-11-18 14:20:39 UTC
Sorry, I did provide incorrect information in the steps to reproduce.

This appears to me as if it may be unique to this version of Windows. I have a laptop with Windows Vista and it acts correctly on that unit.

Unless I'm mistaken, we don't know which Windows version shows the problem.

Also, are both KMyMoney versions the same?
Comment 9 Don Carter 2012-11-18 17:08:58 UTC
KMyMoney version is 4.8.00 on both.

Works correctly on Windows Vista Business with Service Pack 2

Problem is on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3

Please consider attaching screenshots as pictures (jpg, png, ....) instead of a Word doc.

KMM 4.6.2 on KDE 4.8.0 on Windows Home Basic works correctly for me.

Is the behavior any different if you expand the tree to show the accounts under the institution?
Comment 11 Don Carter 2012-11-18 17:49:03 UTC
No, works the same.

I can't reproduce this using 4.6.4 neither on Windows XP nor Windows 7. If this is still happening on your side with the latest version please report back.
