It uses time set to turn screen off even after unchecking chechbox to use it. If I set to lock screen after one minute and disable it, it will turn screen off after one minute. Sometimes. Sometimes it won't, I haven't found pattern. To "solve" the problem I can set huge time to lock screen, but it is a bad solution

Does this really concern Plasma Active or is it actually Plasma Desktop / Netbook?
Comment 3 Oliver Henshaw 2013-04-03 14:00:17 UTC
vlc 2.1 will use the org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver api to inhibit screen interruptions. Kaffeine should be using the Solid::PowerManagement API, so I'd expect this to work. Is this still happening?

And, to repeat Thomas' question, are you talking about plasma active or the desktop/netbook shell?

If you can provide the information requested in comment #3, please add it.

Sorry, I was talking about desktop shell.
No, have not noticed this bug in a while, but that can be due my settings(long time for a lockscreen to start). I will check it again and write back in a day or two.

Still happens with vlc 2.06, I don't have newer version to test. It does not turn off/dim the screen, but lockscreen comes up after some time.

Moving this to kscreensaver, hoping that is the correct product

VLC from git works :) (testing on Arch Linux)

For me the problem is with videos on YT (Flash / HTML5). I think this is the right place to write about it.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. Please re-test and file a new bug with kscreenlocker if the issue persists.
