Description Kristian Rink 2012-11-08 08:17:15 UTC
As far as I can tell, it seems gwenview does (a) not correctly read EXIF "keywords" stored with a JPG image and (b) not correctly write back any keywords to the EXIF structure when assigned from within gwenview UI. This is a bit unexpected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Used a set of JPG images without EXIF keywords, gwenview and exiftool.

Path 1: Used "exiftool -keyword" in the terminal to assign keywords to these images. Using "exiftool" again shows the keywords have been correctly assigned. However, opening the file in gwenview does not display any keywords.

Path 2: Used "exiftool" in a terminal to make sure a test file does not contain any exif keywords. Used gwenview to assign keywords to that file. Used gwenview and dolphin to make sure the keywords have been assigned to the file at least within the KDE environment. Using exiftool, again, on that file, still displays there are no exif keywords set.

Expected Results:
JPG EXIF keywords and keywords displayed / operated on by the gwenview UI should always be in sync.
