When the plasma-widget-menubar is in the panel and I launch the application FlameRobin (Firebird database administration tool), memory and cpu used by plasma-desktop start to grow rapidly until plasma stops responding and I have to kill the process. The problem is always reproducible. Flamerobin is part of my workflow and this bug forces me to remove plasma-widget-menubar from panel. Perhaps the problem could be related to the wxWidgets library used by Flamerobin (I have read in the past problems with wxWidgets and menu bars not showing in applications), but other applications that uses the same library version (like Filezilla) works without issues. The version of FlameRobin in use is the "0.9.3.2220 Unicode" that uses the wxWidget library version 2.8.12 OS is Kubuntu Quantal 64bit Remove Window Menu Bar from the panel and the problem goes away, but this isn't a solution, obiouvsly.. Sorry for my English, I hope that the problem has been clearly explained. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Put plasma-widget-menubar on panel 2. Open system monitor to show process memory and cpu usage 3. Launch FlameRobin Actual Results: Instantly CPU and memory usage of plasma-desktop process starts to grow
Can't reproduce it using KDE SC 4.10 . I don't think plasma-widget-menubar is developed and tracked here (should be in launchpand.net) . Also, kded-appmenu is not part of KDE SC until the upcoming 4.10 . So maybe you should give 4.10 Betas or RCs a try to see whether there is any difference.
Try 4.11 or 4.10 as suggested
