Description Gerrie 2012-11-04 11:05:28 UTC
Fish:// file copies stop (stalled) and does not finish (never..)
a. This is an old bug, I encountered it from official krusader shipped with Opensuse 11.4, and 12.4 (Krusader 1.8 & 2.0).
b. I checked the repository fir a rekated bug, and also downloaded Krusader 2.4.- Beta3 with produce the same result (compile it from source).
c. It is remote file size dependent, 1.8G and 2.7 G files are fine but a specifically certain sizes like 2458984448 Bytes.
d. This problem can be created/duplicated by downloading Slackware14 , specific the 32Bit ISO , and try to copy with fish. The same problem exist with specific files approx 4.3G, if required I can supply one, but I know it does happen.
e. if you retries and it does it again, at exactly the same spot
File details
-rw-r----- 1 gerrie users 2458984448 Sep 26 05:32 slackware-14.0-install-dvd.iso
Other use full info
1. smb://xxxx and the same files copies fine ,
2. fish://xxxx stops, (krusader)
3. however if I revert to mc (midnight commander) and use fish from the menu (F9), it will copy many times faster, and completes successfully, thus the fish script seem to be in order.
4. All tested on KDE 4.8.4 "release 2" (OpenSuse 12.2)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download slackware-14.0-install-dvd.iso from http://mirrors.slackware.com/ (any mirror) on remote PC
2. use fish://192.168.xx.yy on top screen to "connect" to remote pc
3. Select file on local PC, selecting remote file on krusader on local PC , Copy file with F5 to local PC
4. System hangs 99% on Krusader 2.0 and 100% with Krusader 2.4.0-Beta, detail produce => "stalled"
however the file copied does not finish
end result.
-rw-r----- 1 gerrie users 2458984448 Nov 4 12:38 slackware-14.0-install-dvd.iso.part

Actual Results:
System hangs, click 'detail' produce 'stalled', must click 'cancel' to stop process. File named *.part is left on system, however the size seem to be OK?

Expected Results:
Complete the file copy, and rename the file from *.part to *.iso

This was done on
OpenSuse 12.2 64 (but it also happens on the 32 bit) Standard Install
QuadCore 660,
4G Ram,
GigaByte Motherboard
KDE 4.8.4 "release 2"
Linux quad660 3.4.6-2.10-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jul 26 09:36:26 UTC 2012 (641c197) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The same happen on Ubuntu 12.04 (32bit), but results above was copied from 64bit OpenSuse 12.2.

I tried but failed to reproduce it using 2.4.0-beta3.

Anyway, the copying is done by fish kio, so in most cases it should be the fish kio that goes wrong. Does the same stalling happen when you perform the copy through fish in dolphin ?

I manage to figure out how to copy with dolfin, it fine, mc (midnight
commander) also fine.
I think the copy is done but, krusader does not pick that up, check
the original message, it was done with mc, and the size is correct!

Attach another non complete copy via fish.

OS OpenSuse 12.2 (64Bit) (box standard install DVD). This was done with
Krusader as supplied with OpenSuse 12.2.
Please feel free to ask me todo some test, I downloaded the source code
from the respository and can compile and run it with debugs, just tell me
what to do, maybe I can help.

Regards.

Here is another example, the file is copied but Krusader does not complete
nor rename the finished file.

Just ask and I can try to include more information on the problem.
