When I try to install Kde-Windows on Windows XP Service Pack 2, it gets as far as downloading mirrors.list & then says it can't download mirrors.list & the installation just stops. I am using kdewin-installer-gui-latest.exe Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Execute: kdewin-installer-gui-latest 2.Follow the installer until it gets to the point where it states downloading mirrors.list 3.an error message appears "The mirror list could not be downloaded from any of the following locations : http://www.winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/mirrors.list http://www.winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/mirrors.lst You may check your proxy settings and/or inspect the install log file at C:\Program Files\KDE\Packages\kdewin-installer.log Click Cancel - the installation ends Actual Results: Nothing, the installation ends. Expected Results: Installation to ask you to manually install the mirrors.list file & installation to continue. I'm not using any Proxy Settings & I've tried disabling Windows Firewall to no avail.
Can you attach the installer log file? Has it worked previously on the same machine?
There has been some maintainance going on yesterday, so maybe you can retry today.
Hi, i just tested installation with the kdewin installer, and it works as expected again. i guess you just tried to install yesterday when the migration to the new server was ongoing... sorry for the inconvenience. kr Holger
Hi I have since got it working, however, after install I've run into another problem not sure if to close this bug report & mark as solved & create a new bug report, or maybe you'd have an idea how to solve my problem, after installation my trackpad no longer works, I think it's a conflict between my synaptics driver & a possible driver that is being installed by kde, thanks for the speedy replies :)
I would rather open a new bug report, also KDE doesn't install drivers at all, so it shouldn't mess with that. But please make a new bug report describing what happens.
